Teeth Cleaning

"Healthy gums are the foundation of a strong, lasting smile."

Regular/Preventative Cleaning

A regular/preventative cleaning involves your hygienist removing stains, tartar, and plaque from your teeth using special tools and polishing them. Prophylactic cleaning is indicated when patient has healthy gum or mild gum inflammation.

Regular cleaning is typically needed every 6 months for prevention, or more frequently for higher-risk individuals.

Gingivitis Cleaning

This type of dental cleaning is for patients with severe swollen, inflamed gums and bleeding when brushing or during dental exams. It involves removing plaque, tartar, and stains from both above and below the gum line to help reduce inflammation and improve gum health. It’s recommended when there are signs of early gum disease, but not advanced bone loss. This treatment is different from a regular cleaning or deep cleaning, and is done only when specifically needed."

Deep Cleaning

Deep cleaning, also called scaling and root planing, is a non-surgical periodontal therapy used to treat early to moderate stages of gum disease. It involves removing plaque and calculus from below the gumline and smoothing the root surfaces to reduce inflammation, shrink periodontal pockets, and promote gum reattachment. This procedure helps prevent further progression of periodontitis and supports long-term oral health.
